Promo – World Building Wednesday 52

orcishtentredesign_chieftain_promo_wm
Time for another patrons-only world building post, dear readers!
As promised in last weeks post, where we looked at general Orcish tent design, this week we’re looking at the Chief’s tent – how its different, and why (with Onna’s family’s tent as an example).

Look there’s Tock 😀

So, though, page 77. In the 7th month of this year, 2017. And very serendipitously, next month marks 7 years of “Tock the Gnome.”

(I do have a couple special things planned to celebrate, so stay tuned everyone!)

And as I said last page, sometime soon I will be posting a short written scene that shows what’s going in that big yurt there while our heroes wait. That will be available ONLY on Patreon, so make sure to check it out there and pledge if you want to see that (and other) bonus story content! Not to mention the oodles of bonus art and world-building material that’s already posted. Just saying

Thank you, always, for reading!

A note about design changes:

As they appear on this and the following pages, the Orcs’ dwellings are completely culturally appropriated from Mongolian culture. I was not as socially aware when I started this part of the story as I am now, and I am truly sorry for having done this. I have since redesigned the Orcs’ tents and will be reposting these pages with updated panels as soon as possible.

In the meantime, the artwork for those updated panels is viewable here.

Design process for the new tents is viewable here, here and here.

And onward!

Fun note for the future – I’m working on a very short written scene that shows what has been/will be happening inside that big tent as Onna, Tock and Bumble wait outside. That will be available ONLY on Patreon, so make sure to check that out and pledge there if you want to see it! I’ll likely be posting that with the next page.

Told you it would be much more detailed 🙂

The scan of this page is a little bit bigger than most, for better views of Onna’s tribe.

Well, what you can see of them so far.

Also, a quick note on my Orcs – though they live in yurts (because….yurts), they are heavily Viking-influenced. That’s a mashup that just makes a lot of sense to me. I’m very excited to show more of that.
