Here we go!! (Not including today’s which will be drawn later.)
Which also would have been World Building Wednesday, but that had to be on pause for last week due to show prep. Anyhow, here’s something about what happens (or used to happen) during eclipses….
From the aforementioned show prep event!
Warrior and Tea Faerie ❤
Queer loves inspired by a recent rewatch of Thor: Ragnarok (yes yes).
Inspired by a recent viewing of “The Hobbit.” ….I love me some Tolkien, I do, but whenever I watch anything LotR-related I end up drawing some of my own Orcs very, very confused.
Language note! ‘Eka’ means ‘no.’ Full Orcish Language Guide available here.
The 27th/Sunday Gnomedays 10-27-19
I imagine these two end up on wondrous adventures, protecting whatever preciousness that star stands for.
Sometimes, you’ve gotta be fierce and stern.
More to come – we’re almost there, everybody!
(Aaaaaand in case you don’t follow my other sites- next month’s drawing challenge prompt list is up here!)
Look for me at their new location, 124 West State Street, from 12-5pm 10/26!! I’ll have prints and issues of “Tock the Gnome” available, of course, AND I’ll be doing free sketches like I did for Free Comic Book Day 😀
Hope to see you there!!
(Also, this newly-finished old sketch stands for Sunday Gnomedays 10-20-19 and Orctober the 21st! See below for the stand-in Orctober and Sunday Gnomedays I posted last minue on Instagram yesterday for the 20th.)
Thanks for your patience, everybody, while I was away at my brother’s wedding!
(These are not in numerical order, but follow my notes in the order the images are posted above, and it will all make sense.)
So, numbers 14, 12 and 15, first – all three of those being Tock-verse-framed BUT 14 and 15 being non-exactly-canon, as the Orcs are not exactly aware of broader Faerie (…yet) and don’t have magic (…at the moment).
And lastly, number 13/Sunday Gnomedays 10-13-19 – a non-Tock entry (gasp!) featuring Orc and Gnome of “Orc and Gnome’s Mild Aventures!” If you haven’t checked out their comic yet, DO! It is veryvery fun, and another adventure-based Orc/Gnome romance. Delicious ❤
Stayed tuned for more “Tock the Gnome” Orctober later today with World Building Wednesday!
In this week’s patrons-only world building post, we’re looking at the other side of Orcish warfare – war creates wounds, both psychological and physical, and that means intense healing!
Aaaaand as for the catchup:
The 6th / Sunday Gnomedays 10-6-19 – Tock and Onna Tock and Onna Tock and Onna ❤
The 7th – Just needed a quick self-care Orc with butterflies.
The 8th – Not sure where this one came from, but I feel like it has a story – perhaps this Orcish maiden may have been considering taking this Dragon’s egg home for a meal, but the butterfly landing on her finger gave her pause? 🦋 (Dragons are absolutely friends, not food, in Tock’s world btw, and the Orcs and all the other races – except the Gnomes – would be familiar with them from a distance. More on that in the future…)
(Whew, lots today!)
Time for another patrons-only world building post, dear readers! This week, from Mermay day 28 – Snail, we’re taking a look at an extravagant behavior of the royal court during Misu and Mariatu’s time (waaay in the backstory).
And for some catchup!
Last week was very busy with other projects, but here’s a start to catching up ❤
Day 17, “Lace”
And happy Sunday Gnomedays too! Potentially non-canon, but let’s say sometime in the future, a Mermaid meets a Gnome – and in sparking their friendship, finds out that she’s a lacemaker, but has no idea what that is! On the next visit, then, the Gnome takes it upon herself to bring an example. And in demonstrating that it’s sometimes worn…. they end up closer than expected 💕
Day 16, “Koi”
A character from possibly the furthest backstory I’ve drawn from, recently mentioned by Misu in another backstory post recounting her people’s history. She’s a kind of priestess, communicating with the water wisps (like wil o’ the wisps) I drew on day 1.
Prompt list courtesy of the amazing Maegan Cook.
Time for another patrons-only world building post, dear readers! This week we’re looking at a bit more Mermish history connected to the magic we talked about last week. Inspired by Mermay day 14, “Nerd.”
Aaaaand more Mermay catchup!
