Time for another patrons-only world building post, dear readers!
Today, we will hear a story of the Orcs, from the perspective of the Brogh – why do the Orcs, though Viking inspired, have nothing to do with the ocean?
Something bonusey for extra Sunday Gnomedays (drawn last night, but busy weekend means late posting!). My Wife and I are rewatching Veronica Mars in preparation for the new series, and as usual, Veronica and Wallace are giving me major Tock and Bumble feels.
(Don’t worry Bumble, I don’t think Tock would actually do that well in jail either 😅🎩💕)
As for current progress!
The Orcish tent redesign is going very well, slowly but surely. This week’s World Building Wednesday will feature the Chief’s-tent redesign and how/why that differs from their usual homes. The week after that, if all goes to plan, will feature the Great Hall’s redesign, and then I’m on to making page adjustments! Thank you for your patience, dear readers. I promise we will be back to forward story progress as soon as possible.
In the meantime, my daily “Tock Time” has gone to making progress on this month’s Ranger level bonus drawing (which will be a finished ink and subtle color piece this month instead of just a pencil illustration). WIPs on that are available for all Rogue level patrons, too, in lieu of the page progress WIPs I would usually be posting more regularly. Click here to check those out, too!
Thank you all, very much, for your patience again and for your enjoyment of Tock’s story always!
Happy Pride Month everyone ❤
This piece counts as June’s Ranger level bonus for my patrons – viewable now, for all, as part of the Open House !
ALSO, as a special treat, all new and existing patrons at any pledge level will get a print of this image in the mail (along with a bonus sticker)! If you’re not pledging yet, just sign up by midnight on Sunday 6/30 to get one for yourself! ❤
In honor of this very Faerie of months, we’re having an open house!
From today until June 30th, ALL Patreon updates – meaning bonus posts at all levels – will be posted publicly, so non-patrons will get to see what benefits come with supporting this comic 😀 At the end of the month, existing patrons and any new patrons will get an extra treat by regular mail, too!
The first post each month, by the way, is an exclusive drawing of Mariatu – frequently featured in in backstory bonus posts. Most of the time that is a pencil drawing, not finished like this (but I wanted to do something special today).
And happy Junefae, everyone!
(On that note, of course, Mermay is over – catchup posting will commence soon <3)
(Whew, lots today!)
Time for another patrons-only world building post, dear readers! This week, from Mermay day 28 – Snail, we’re taking a look at an extravagant behavior of the royal court during Misu and Mariatu’s time (waaay in the backstory).
And for some catchup!
Mermay catchup and Sunday Gnomedays will be up later, dear readers. In the meantime here’s a sneak peek of something I don’t usually post here, as it’s not directly related to this project – however, that is changing a bit!
Previous Gnome Wings focused solely on the Faerie aspect of my work, but I was inspired recently to see what steampunk elements I can add to them! Small cogs and keys are on their way to me as I speak, so for now I’ve started adjusting my color palette and adding corsets *excited rapid clapping!*
The plan for this one is to add a key on top of the corset, laying over the join in the front, and add cogs to the upper wings (as well as the normal tail-shapes I usually put at the bottom).
More on these as they come, I’m hoping to have a few ready for Salem NY Faerie Fest next month. And of course prints from the comic, as well as stickers and issues of the comic, are always available at my Etsy shop (with issues 1 and 2 available here and here free digitally for all patrons!).
Time for another patrons-only world building post, dear readers! This week, we’re taking a quick look at the relationship between the Merfolk and the Selkie (from today’s Mermay prompt, featured in the image above).
And for a bit of Mermay catchup:
Day 18, “Pirate”
Featuring Sed, again (as above), in a moment of reflection….. how did she find herself in such a role, I wonder?
Obviously I am several other days behind. My plan is to catch up in a backwards order from here and push forward on the remaining prompts in order.
My attention/inspiration has been captured by other projects the last few days, so progress on this challenge slowed WAY down without me even realizing it. Thanks, always, for your patience and I hope you still look forward to the rest!
