Visual notes – Orc Teeth

Some unexpected visual notes – I could do better with Orc tusks. So here we are.
Consider me humbled and impressed at all the gorgeous and impressive Orcish cosplay out there (which my Wife and I relied on *heavily* to correct this situation. Thanks also, always, to her for pointing out that this adjustment was needed. She always makes me better than I think I am or can be).
… on to fixing page 84 ^^;
At least this was a chance to feature Onna’s warrior hair!
And as Maya Angelou said, “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.”

Sketch – Onna vs. Robin

Having a Throwback Thursday moment and wanting to share this with you guys ❤

This was originally a Patrons-only bonus over on Patreon, but with Spring approaching, I saw a robin for the first time (this season) a couple days ago and wanted to celebrate somehow! So in lieu of new artwork, I hope you enjoy this!

(Fun fact that will come up eventually: Onna is afraid of birdies. Even sweet little ones ^^; )

Many more bonus sketches and extra world-building information available on Patreon too, at any pledge level. Aaaaaaand stay tuned this Saturday for a special, related announcement!

Brogh Gaelic Time, 1

I’ve been working a bit on the Orc language lately (which I may or may not be sharing on Patreon with translations…), but that’s got me thinking about the other languages we’ll be coming across soon, particularly these lovely badger folk.
This time of year, leading up to March, always gets me thinking about my own roots too. I’m Irish, and love being so, and there’s a lot about Celtic culture that’s going to be reflected in Brogh culture (in the same way my Orcs are very very Viking).
In interest of honoring that, and not driving myself crazy having to come up with multiple fantasy languages, I have elected to have my badgers speak Gaelic. Which I am now also learning myself 😀
So have some Eunan speaking of himself!
Pronunication: iss farr may.
Translation: “I am a man.”
(Yeeeeah, very binary-centric, as the first few lessons irritatingly were, BUT interesting and important that he is saying so.)

WIP – January 2018 Patreon Ranger-level bonus

(Ain’t that a mouthful, yeesh.)

Soooooo every month over on Patreon, I do an exclusive drawing for Ranger-level patrons. This is part of this month’s – I liked it so much, I couldn’t help but share a weeeee bit of it!

This is not exactly canon – there is no magical door to “Faerie” in Tock’s world – BUT it is heavily inspired by my own service to the Fae and how that effects Tock’s story. I’ve been thinking about that a lot, lately….

Full drawing will be posted later this month over there! Pledge for that and many more bonuses!

Sketch – Fancy Tock

Hello dear readers.
Not a lot of drawing has been happening this week (eternal shakey fist at January and SAD). Page 82 is very nearly done, though, and I am still planning the rest of that behind-the-scenes yurt story as previously mentioned on my Patreon. So there will at least be that for this month’s progress on Tock’s story….
In the meantime, please enjoy this self-care fancy Tock. That hat should look familiar, but it will be some time before she has such ownership of it (enough to dress it up with fancy flowy ruffles and corsets, that is!).
Thank you all so much for being here. It means so much to me.

Bonus drawing – Gathering Stars

Happy Saturday dear readers 🌟
I‘ve been having trouble getting drawing this week, so here’s some sweetness in the meantime – with a certain Elf, and a certain Gnome.
(…..Mariatu and Tock, that is. You know that by now. I’m being silly.)
As for other progress – the pencil work for page 82 is about halfway done, yay! And I do plan to have the “Meanwhile…” Yurt scene up for Patrons only soon, with a bonus sketch of a certain Chieftain.
I hope 2018 has been treating you all well so far, and that you’re all staying as warm as possible!

Happy Holidays, 2017

Inspired by “A Christmas Carol,” which I’ve been enjoying even more than usual this year – Onna as the spirit of the Past, Tock as the spirit of the Present, and Bumble as the spirit of “Yet to come.”

Happy Holidays, dear readers! I hope you have a lovely season, blessed and bright.

(And Blessed Yule to anyone celebrating! Sabbat sketch will be up at later ❤ )
