Time for another Patrons-only world building post! This week we’re looking at magic again – specifically, the cultures that have it, and why that is so.
As has been implied, the Gnomes of Tock’s world do not have magic. Magical forces show up in some of their legends, and they hear stories of it existing in other cultures – especially in the Lowlands – but it has been a long, LONG time since any such force was present in their own kind. And as we’ve seen, the Orcs don’t appear to have magic, either.
So, if magic exists, where is it and why do its keepers still have it, if the Orcs and Gnomes don’t?
Two bonuses today for my Patreon patrons!! (And technically about half of one for everyone, since I always share the WBW art.)
Firstly, it’s time for another patrons-only world building post! This week, we’re looking at the mysterious Badger folk.
(And remember, all Ranger patrons are in the running to WIN that month’s drawing!)
This week, we’re talking about how Gnomish/Orcish trade usually happens.
As it says on the tin – from now on, each Wednesday will feature a new world building post for patrons only.
Hello readers! Exciting news:
I have indeed adjusted the tiers on Patreon a little bit, as I’d planned on before. The biggest changes are that there will be one new world building post a week now, available to all patrons, the Rogue level (for sneak peeks of the comic pages) now starts at $3 instead of $5 AAAAAND all Ranger patrons (or higher) are now entered to WIN that month’s bonus drawing!
Giveaways start with June and July. Here’s a preview of those two:
I will randomly select a winner for each of these next Friday, July 13th, so click here to pledge and see the full pieces and get yourself entered!
Hope you all enjoy. Thank you, always ~~<3

Happy beginning of MerMay everyone!
(This is also a “Tock the Gnome” patreon bonus – that Elven lady in the middle of an intense Mermaid hug is Mariatu. Surrounding her is her Wife, Misu. They are an important part of the backstory of Tock’s world and there are many bonus pieces relating to them and mermaid/elf culture there. See more here.)
This is also especially dedicated to my own Mer-Llady Wife 🐚💗🦈
Good luck to all of us participating!
Hello dear readers.
So, the Spirit Renewal Print Special I have up on Patreon is not going exactly as I had hoped, which is leading me to rethink what I am offering there.
The rewards currently available for each patron level are listed here (on the right hand side of the page), and here is what I have in mind for adjustments:
For basic support up to $3, you will get access to WIP’s on bonus art and sometimes the pages themselves, as well as one bonus world-building post per week as I write/draw to develop Tock’s world.
For each pledge of $3 or more, you’ll get early access to comic pages in the form of WIP shots as each page takes form – including thumbnails, notes, full shots of the page in pencil and ink stages, and closeups of all other WIP on it (in addition to all previous rewards).
For each pledge of $7 or more, you’ll get access to one exclusive Tock-related drawing per month (in addition to all previous rewards).
For each pledge of $14 or more, you’ll get a monthly print of the Ranger level drawing sent to you via regular mail, with a personalized thank you note and bonus pencil sketch (in addition to all previous rewards).
For each pledge of $25 or more, I will provide a personal pencil drawing of a character of your choice – either one already in the comic, or a new one from one of the world’s races (in addition to all previous rewards, including the Paladin level print). You’ll get a high resolution scan of the image as well as the original sent to you via regular mail, with a personalized thank you note and bonus pencil sketch.
For each pledge of $50 or more, I will provide a finished illustration in the style of the comic (ink and simple colorwork) of a character of your choice – either one already in the comic, or a new one from one of the world’s races (in addition to all previous rewards, including the Paladin print and Mage pencil drawing). You’ll get a high resolution scan of the image as well as the original sent to you via regular mail, with a personalized thank you note and bonus pencil sketch.
Soooo let me know what you think of these changes, if you please!
