Thanks for your patience, everybody, while I was away at my brother’s wedding!
(These are not in numerical order, but follow my notes in the order the images are posted above, and it will all make sense.)
So, numbers 14, 12 and 15, first – all three of those being Tock-verse-framed BUT 14 and 15 being non-exactly-canon, as the Orcs are not exactly aware of broader Faerie (…yet) and don’t have magic (…at the moment).
And lastly, number 13/Sunday Gnomedays 10-13-19 – a non-Tock entry (gasp!) featuring Orc and Gnome of “Orc and Gnome’s Mild Aventures!” If you haven’t checked out their comic yet, DO! It is veryvery fun, and another adventure-based Orc/Gnome romance. Delicious ❤
Stayed tuned for more “Tock the Gnome” Orctober later today with World Building Wednesday!
This weekend is going to be veryvery busy as I vend at a festival out of town, so here’s these quick before I go!
Day 29, “Aztec”
Something very very non-Tock – inspired by Lake Texcoco and the cities they built around it, a giant Mermaid lake-spirit blesses and guards the people who lived there.
Day 30, “Stars”
Something more canon – a Mermaid who’s clearly been through something rough gets blessed with starfish hugs!
Day 31, “Free Draw”
Something Tock-possible – and a flashback, revisiting these two from last year’s last day! Loosely based on my Wife and me (and I can’t believe it took me 31 days to draw a sea turtle Merm, what the eff, self?).
Thanks again to the amazing Maegan Cook for an awesome Mer-month!! Hope you all enjoyed my entries 🌊
(Whew, lots today!)
Time for another patrons-only world building post, dear readers! This week, from Mermay day 28 – Snail, we’re taking a look at an extravagant behavior of the royal court during Misu and Mariatu’s time (waaay in the backstory).
And for some catchup!
Time for another patrons-only world building post, dear readers! This week we’re looking at a bit more Mermish history connected to the magic we talked about last week. Inspired by Mermay day 14, “Nerd.”
Aaaaand more Mermay catchup!
Greetings, new visitors and followers from “The Snow Queen!” I’m so pleased you’ve made your way over here and I hope you enjoyed the show!
Here is a quick rundown of what you’ll find here and on other of my sites:
This site (scrolling right down from here, or at the Archive page): Existing and new pages of my comic in-progress, “Tock the Gnome,” a steampunk/fantasy graphic novel about a Gnome woman on a quest to rescue a legendary Elven princess. Along the way she will learn more about the world she’s been isolated from, and be challenged not only by the characters and creatures she encounters, but by the yearnings of her own heart. Will contain lesbian romance, size-positivity, non-binary gender, fairy tale themes, conundrums and tomfoolery.
I also share occasional bonus art and bonus short stories set in Tock’s world.
Patreon: A crowd-funding website for this project, containing extra goodies not posted here.
rachelillustrates.com: Finished fantasy art and sketches (including one new Gnome drawing every Sunday, called “Sunday Gnomedays”) as well as announcements about other project updates, commissions, etc.
My Etsy: Prints of of my work, coloring books and needle-felted faerie dolls, Gnome Wings, all for sale!
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoy what you find here! And remember – your program from the show includes a coupon code for my etsy, and if you bought the performance-exclusive Snow Queen coloring book, please tag me ( @rachelillustrates or #rachelillustrates ) so I can see your work too!
Brightest blessings and Faerie Love to all ~~<3
Prompt – Balance.
……and that’s it 🙂 Thank you so much for all the likes, and any looks in general. I hope each drawing brought warmth to your heart.
As for Tock-specifics, I’ll be doing a post of JUST the Tock-related ones soon, in case anyone missed them or wants to see them all together. And work on page 72 progresses, as does some bonus work for the Patreon page and the traditional Holiday bonus art ❤
Thanks again, especially for your support of Tock’s story and world.
Prompt – Fashion.
Featuring the Norse Goddess Sigyn (one of my Patronesses) as a Gnome woman.
Full prompt list linked at the About tab above through the end of the week.
