As it says ❤
Be it Peacenight-time or an Earthen holiday that warms your heart, may your celebrations be joyous and full of Love!
Thanks for following Tock’s tale this year everyone, especially in the face of some massive delays. Your patience and readership truly mean the world to me. Here’s to next year being the best one yet, for all of us!
Something bonusey for extra Sunday Gnomedays (drawn last night, but busy weekend means late posting!). My Wife and I are rewatching Veronica Mars in preparation for the new series, and as usual, Veronica and Wallace are giving me major Tock and Bumble feels.
(Don’t worry Bumble, I don’t think Tock would actually do that well in jail either 😅🎩💕)
As for current progress!
The Orcish tent redesign is going very well, slowly but surely. This week’s World Building Wednesday will feature the Chief’s-tent redesign and how/why that differs from their usual homes. The week after that, if all goes to plan, will feature the Great Hall’s redesign, and then I’m on to making page adjustments! Thank you for your patience, dear readers. I promise we will be back to forward story progress as soon as possible.
In the meantime, my daily “Tock Time” has gone to making progress on this month’s Ranger level bonus drawing (which will be a finished ink and subtle color piece this month instead of just a pencil illustration). WIPs on that are available for all Rogue level patrons, too, in lieu of the page progress WIPs I would usually be posting more regularly. Click here to check those out, too!
Thank you all, very much, for your patience again and for your enjoyment of Tock’s story always!
Time for another patrons-only world building post, dear readers! This week we’re looking at a bit more Mermish history connected to the magic we talked about last week. Inspired by Mermay day 14, “Nerd.”
Aaaaand more Mermay catchup!
More catching up to do! For the record, I have been pretty much keeping up posting these on time on my Instagram, but it’s less easy to keep up on posting these across ALL the places I post (here, Patreon, dA, etc.). So for more-live updates, I recommend following me there, too.
That said, here we are with the most recent three!
Which inspired me to draw more about the Hogdragons that the Orcs use for travel – and companionship, in some cases.
(Look closely and there’s some backstory in this one!)
Which got me thinking about the connection between their tusks and the bones they use in their jewelry.
And then jewelry on their tusks.
So here we are.
(…who does and does not have nose rings is important too, btw. We will get to that eventually.)
As I mentioned before, the Orcs are nomads, and they use the hogdragons for travel from foraging-place to foraging-place (also to carry them into war, but that’s another matter). Since they also live in yurts, they often send some of the tribe ahead to start setting up camp while the rest of them take their time to get there. And apparently some of the younger tribesfolk take the opportunity to race!
More soon ❤ (And of course, more on the Orcs of Tock’s world available in the comic!)
One more bonus, dear readers, for Seven Years of Tock!
Here are five small moments, each crew member of the dear Bucket in their experience of the world – before they came together! These happen at varying times in their lives, and speak to the reasons they’ll end up where they are in the comic – which is yet to be seen, in full, but I hope you enjoy this glimpse in the meantime!
Thank you so much for your continuous support and enjoyment of this work. I’m so pleased to share Tock’s world with you and look forward to sharing even more adventures and stories of Faerie magic and Love ❤
A roar tore through her throat as Onna lunged at her opponent again, the battle rush blissfully in her veins. They clashed, axe against club, force by force trying to push each other down. Their teacher shouted, they broke apart, swinging back around to try again.
Sooooooooo even though this site has functioned as the main Tock website for some time now, and before I ended up over on Patreon (where you can still support me for extra goodies, if you like), I eventually posted the comic over on deviantART. I’d been a member there even before I came on here, and am happy to say we have a good number of readers there now too.
I am delighted and bewildered to say that on Friday, page 75 was chosen as a Daily Deviation!!!
(insert several panels of me freaking out and bouncing with glee here)
So, that page and some other Tock works have gotten some new attention! So this is a welcome sketch for my new Watchers over there.
