Promo – World Building Wednesday 53

Time for another patrons-only world building post, dear readers!
As promised, this week is the last of the Orcish tent redesign – the Grand Hall. As originally intended, each Orc campsite has a central structure in the middle that serves as a meeting place for the whole community, and that will still be the case – with some significant changes, however!

As promised in last weeks post, where we looked at general Orcish tent design, this week we’re looking at the Chief’s tent – how its different, and why (with Onna’s family’s tent as an example).

Sketch – Three Women

Slight “Rescue Quest” Spoilers follow!

Sketch, "Three Women," pencil and ink, "Tock the Gnome"

Chibi-style sketch of three ladies from Tock’s world – a Gnome in the middle (of course), an Orc to her left and a Brogh to her right.

The Brogh haven’t been introduced yet, as they’re another race of the Lowlands that the Gnomes don’t know much about – even less than they know about Orcs, in fact – but as you can see here, they’re a race of badger people. They also have a lot of magic, and a very strong connection to nature. This will be very important eventually.

Notes/design for the trap Tock’s in

Obviously it was tweaked a bit during the process of drawing the last page, but this is what I had in mind.

Also, fun fact: originally the trap was going to grab both Tock and Bumble, but I couldn’t figure out how to make that work well enough. As it is, it works better for the story, anyway.

(You’ll see what I mean in about 3 pages.)
