Hello dear readers 🖤
It has been a really long week – on top of the stress of errands-running, I had some extra appointments (which I’m really grateful for, thank goodness for phone calls and Zoom meetings) BUT that’s been a lot more taxing on my energy than I expected. As such, World Building Wednesday is delayed. At best, it will be up later this week – at worst, it will resume next week.
To check out previous WBWs, click the ‘world building’ tag on my Patreon (link below)! Thanks for your patience 🎩💕
Issue 3 is now available digitally, containing pages 58 to 84 plus four illustrated bonus scenes!
And don’t forget I have a sale going on, 20% off all items until this Friday, with free domestic shipping on all orders over $30! Click here to check it out.
Hello dear readers!
As many of you might be experiencing, my state (among many others) is basically on lockdown to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Which means that non-essential businesses have been temporarily closed until further notice.
Which means that my printer is currently closed too.
Which means no print copies of issue 3 until they open back up.
Issue 3 will still release on schedule, just digitally for now on my Etsy. It will also be available complimentary for all my patrons, no matter what pledge level, so don’t forget to sign up there for that and for many other bonuses (including World Building Wednesday and WIP shots on each new page)!
As I’ve said before, bonuses and page progress will continue as usual in the face of everything that’s going on too. I hope you’re all staying as safe and sane as possible, and no matter what, may we all keep creating as best we can ❤
Thanks, always always, for reading and for your support!
Time for another patrons-only world building post, dear readers!
This week, we’re looking at the flip side of an already established fact. Fae that are closer to the Heart of Faerie are non-detectable by non-magical beings – if that is so, what do they look like when non-magical beings do see them?
ALSO!! Fun announcement time – due to popular demand, “Tock the Gnome” is now available on Webtoon!
Since the format for Webtoon is notably different from how I usually structure pages, I’ll be gradually uploading the existing comic content there, with a small update every Tuesday until I’m caught up to the current pages.
Look for me at their new location, 124 West State Street, from 12-5pm 10/26!! I’ll have prints and issues of “Tock the Gnome” available, of course, AND I’ll be doing free sketches like I did for Free Comic Book Day 😀
Hope to see you there!!
(Also, this newly-finished old sketch stands for Sunday Gnomedays 10-20-19 and Orctober the 21st! See below for the stand-in Orctober and Sunday Gnomedays I posted last minue on Instagram yesterday for the 20th.)
As I mentioned before, current circumstances at my support-job have been really messing with my schedule and draining my energy. This has made it very difficult for me to produce any art work, especially for “Tock.” I’m officially back to Page updates now because I didn’t want to disappoint anyone. But the truth is that the situation has not improved much.
On top of that, I’ve been presented with the opportunity to participate in the “Once Upon a Time” anthology, which – if I get in – means I’d be getting my work published. That would be a first for me, and its a subject I’m really, really passionate about, so its kind of a big deal. The problem is that I definitely don’t have the time/energy to focus on that and continue updating this comic on a semi-regular basis.
Because of all this, I’ve decided to put “Tock the Gnome: The Rescue Quest” on unofficial hiatus, just until my submission for Once Upon is complete. I hate doing this, but I think its for the best and – very importantly – I am NOT abandoning this story or these characters. I still have a lot to say with them and I intend on seeing it through, even if it takes a while.
Submissions for Once Upon are open until March 30, 2012, so we’ll be back to page updates the week after that at the very latest. In the meantime, I’ll still be working on world-building for “Tock,” so please keep watching/reading for bonus posts like that. Also, if anyone has anything they’d like to submit as filler (guest comics, fanart, etc.) please send them to email@example.com, subject: “Tock the Gnome Filler” (thanks in advance to anyone who sends anything in!). And if you’re interested in seeing any of my other illustration work, including design work for my Once Upon submission (if they’ll let me post it), please check out my website/blog, Tumblr, or deviantART sites.
Finally, I want to thank you all for your patience. My circumstances make it difficult to update as regularly as most other webcomics do, but I appreciate each and every one of you that’s stopped in and taken a look. Please keep an eye out for those world-building posts (including the sketch series I started posting last week) and I promise, in Spring, it will be well worth the wait.
