Time for another patrons-only world building post, dear readers!
This week, inspired by the nature in which I celebrate St. Paddy’s Day, here’s a look at the Selkie folk of Tock’s world, and how their closest neighbors – the Elves – tend to view them.
And here we have it. But is that better, or worse, for poor Onna?
Thanks for your patience with updates, too – if the slow updates bother you, keep in mind that we’re getting closer to my first goal on Patreon, $50 monthly, which means I would guarantee a new page each month!! So if you’re not pledging me on Patreon yet, but enjoy reading Tock’s story, please do consider signing up!
Some notes on progress and catching up! I haven’t felt very up to posting much lately, and am grateful for your patience, dear readers.
Greetings, everyone ❤
I haven’t been up to posting much this week, due to personal things and prep for vending at Ithacon, so here’s some things that “should” have already been posted.
(Friendly reminder, “shoulding” on oneself is never helpful and I do not endorse it! But I am grateful for your patience.)
Drew this very faerie Tock for self care, and posted it on Instagram yesterday to make note that I have still been creating, though my plans for what I’m bringing to the con had had to be adjusted. I had hoped to have “Tock the Gnome” issue two finished, but there’s not going to be enough time for me to do that well and have it there on time, so that has been changed to Preorder status instead! More on that, and what bonuses will come in the issue, soon.
I will be bringing my existing…

Continuing, and celebrating today!
Day 4, Heal/
Once again I chose the Light/Seelie theme. So here’s something from “Tock the Gnome” backstory, two characters that need healing and could reach for it, in their union. But will they? 💗
Day 5, Gift/
Inspired by the Seelie side again – in honor of International Women’s Day, the Tockverse ladies (or at least as many of them as I could fit on the page) are here in solidarity. Growing together from the gift of all their varied relationships, individual strengths and differences.
True strength comes from that place of togetherness and cooperation, not competition. May we all build each other up and inspire each other, too!
As mentioned previously ❤
Sooooo I joined another drawing challenge on Instagram ^^; “Fairy Fae Week,” with two prompt options per day, one “light” (or seelie) one “dark” (or unseelie). I’ve needed something to get myself motivated lately, and I simply couldn’t resist! Keeping them Tock the Gnome themed as usual, and will be posting these as often as possible but probably in bunches, as usually happens). On-time updates will be available on my Instagram.
Day 1, Free/
For Tock the Gnome, freedom comes from the stories that inspire her! So here she is, atop them, with with wings growing from that inspiration.
(And what are faerie wings but a manifestation of freedom, too?)
Day 2, Dream/
Something dreamscapey, then, with the crew (and a random Brogh woman, who I feel is descended from certain backstory characters). Inspired by my own dreams last the night previous.
Day 3, Light/Dark
For this one, I chose both, and featured…

Prompted by my participation in Fairy Fae Week over on Instagram (….whaaaat? This one’s only 7 days, not 30 😅). Today’s prompt was Light or Dark, and I went with both. Previous/following prompts will be posted here sometime later this week.
As I’ve mentioned before, the Elves of Tock’s world see morality very differently than other races. They are very aware of the balance necessary between Light and Dark, comfort and sorrow, peace and pain….
This one is a bit late due to life kicking my butt this week, so thank you for your patience, dear readers.
Today we’re taking a quick look at the kind of birds that attacked Tock and Bumble on page 29. I have come to call them Yowlbatrosses…..
